Below are the questions that come up most often.
How do I record a night?
Tap Track My Sleep before you go to bed and put the phone on a bedside table, roughly at arm's length, with the microphone not covered. In the morning tap I'm Awake — Finish and your report appears.
The screen goes black — is it still recording?
Yes. After about 25 seconds the app dims the screen to near-black so it does not light up your room, but the phone stays awake and keeps listening. Tap the screen to bring it back.
The screen has to stay on for recording to continue, so this uses a lot of battery. Charge your phone while recording.
Why did it stop during the night?
Snorely records only while it is the app on screen. If you switch to another app, lock the phone, or the battery runs out, listening stops. Some phones also have aggressive battery-saver settings that shut down apps in the background — if a night ended early, check Android's battery settings for Snorely and allow unrestricted background activity.
It missed my snoring / it counted noise that wasn't snoring
Detection listens for loud, low-frequency sound, so a fan, an air conditioner, traffic or a partner can be counted, and quiet snoring can be missed.
Open Settings → Sound Sensitivity and adjust it:
- High — picks up quieter snoring, but also more background noise
- Medium — the default
- Low — only loud snoring is counted, best in a noisy room
Moving the phone closer to your head also helps a lot.
What does the Snore Score mean?
It is a single 0–100 number summarising the night, where lower is better. It combines how much of the night contained snoring, how many separate episodes there were, and how loud they were. It is only meaningful compared to your own other nights — it is not a medical measurement and it does not diagnose anything.
Where are the snore clips?
At the bottom of each night's report. Snorely keeps up to 6 clips of the loudest moments per night, and keeps that audio for your most recent 14 nights. Older nights keep their score and timeline, but their audio is deleted automatically to save space.
If a night's clips say no audio is saved, it is either an older night, or Settings → Record Night Audio was switched off for that night.
Does it work without internet?
Always. The app has no internet permission at all, so everything happens on your device and nothing is ever uploaded.
How do I delete everything?
Settings → Delete All Data. That erases every night and every saved clip immediately. Uninstalling the app also removes everything.
Is it really free?
Yes. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads.
